Thyroid Care
Thyroid function drives inflammation and tissue repair. Patients with long-standing thyroid problems often have joints that never recovered the way they should have.

A six-step approach that evaluates and addresses the factors affecting how your knee feels and functions, so you can understand your options before you make a decision you cannot undo.
When a knee has hurt for years, the imaging gets the attention. Cartilage loss shows up on a scan. Somebody says bone on bone. The conversation moves to replacement.
What often goes unexamined is everything around the joint. How the femur and tibia are tracking. Whether the muscles that should stabilize the knee are actually firing. What the inflammatory environment inside the joint looks like. Whether the tissue has what it needs to repair itself.
Those factors are addressable. That is what this program evaluates first.

You may be a candidate if you have been told you need a knee replacement, you have knee osteoarthritis or degenerative changes, your injections have stopped working as well as they did, or you simply want a second look before you commit to surgery.
Each step builds on the one before it. Not every patient receives every step, and your plan is individualized from what the evaluation finds.
Evaluate the relationship and movement of the femur and tibia with the goal of optimizing knee mechanics and joint function.
Nerve-root activation therapy is used as part of an approach designed to improve muscle activation and support the muscles surrounding the knee.
Comfort activation therapy is incorporated to address discomfort and help manage symptoms associated with inflammation.
Ozone therapy may be incorporated as part of an individualized approach to addressing discomfort and the local joint environment.
Enzyme-neutralization therapy and A2M may be considered as part of an individualized approach to supporting joint and cartilage health.
Regenerative signaling approaches may be incorporated with the goal of supporting the body's natural tissue-repair processes.
About steps four through six. These steps are considered individually and are not part of every patient's plan. Whether any of them is appropriate for you is determined at the evaluation.
The first appointment is an examination and a conversation. Not a sales pitch.
Dr. King tells you what he found, whether this program is a reasonable fit for your knee, and what it would involve. If your joint is past the point where this helps, he says so and points you toward the right next step. That answer is worth the appointment on its own.

Yes, for many patients. The Non-Surgical Knee Restoration Program at King Family Chiropractic in Trussville, AL is a six-step approach that evaluates knee alignment, muscle activation, inflammation and the joint environment before surgery is considered. It is not right for every knee, and some joints are too advanced. The evaluation exists to tell you which category you are in.
It is a six-step program delivered over a series of visits. The steps address knee alignment, activation of the supporting muscles, comfort and inflammation, the joint environment, cartilage and joint health, and support for natural tissue repair. Not every patient receives every step. Your plan is built from what the examination finds.
The typical candidate has knee osteoarthritis, chronic knee pain or stiffness, degenerative changes on imaging, or a knee that never fully recovered after an injury or a scope. Patients who have been told a replacement is the next step, and patients whose injections have stopped working as well as they used to, are the two most common profiles.
There is no operating room, no general anesthesia and no post-surgical recovery period. Most patients keep their normal routine throughout the program. Comfort during individual steps varies from person to person, and Dr. King walks you through exactly what to expect at the evaluation.
Cost depends on which of the six steps your individualized plan includes, which is why the evaluation comes first. King Family Chiropractic accepts insurance, offers in-house payment plans, and is a CareCredit and Cherry provider. Call (205) 655-0010 and the office will walk you through benefits and options.
The program runs across a series of visits rather than a single appointment, because several steps build on the ones before them. Your schedule is set at the evaluation based on the examination findings.
